TREATMENT
Botox
Our providers have extensive training in head, face, and neck anatomy. Whether you’re seeking natural-looking cosmetic rejuvenation or relief from certain medical conditions, our team provides personalized care in a comfortable, clinical setting.
What is Botox?
Botox (botulinum toxin type A) is an FDA-approved injectable treatment that temporarily relaxes specific muscles. Botox can smooth fine lines and wrinkles and also be used therapeutically for certain medical conditions involving muscle overactivity, such as TMJ dysfunction or nerve-related symptoms.
How it works:
Botox temporarily blocks nerve signals to overactive muscles or glands, reducing unwanted movements or activity to improve comfort and/or function
Who can/cannot receive Botox?
Most healthy adults can receive Botox. Botox is not recommended for patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have had previous reactions to Botox, or have certain neuromuscular disorders (myasthenia gravis or ALS). We also do not recommend Botox when there are active skin infections at the injection site(s).
Why Choose an ENT Provider for Botox?
Botox treatments require precision and a deep understanding of facial anatomy — especially in the head and neck region.
Our ENT providers are medical experts in these areas, ensuring:
- Safety and precision in every injection
- Natural-looking results that complement personal features
- Customized treatment plans for both medical and cosmetic goals
- Comprehensive care, from consultation to follow-up
Medical Use of Botox
Beyond aesthetics, Botox is a powerful therapeutic tool for several ENT-related conditions.
Chronic Migraines & Tension Headaches
Targeted Botox injections reduce muscle tension and nerve pain triggers that may contribute to chronic headaches.
Jaw Clenching (Bruxism) & TMJ Pain
Botox can relieve tension in the jaw muscles, reducing pain, discomfort, grinding, and jaw fatigue.
Facial Asymmetry
By balancing facial muscles, Botox can help improve facial symmetry and appearance.
Common Cosmetic Uses
- Frown lines (“11s”) between the eyebrows
- Forehead wrinkles
- Crow’s feet around the eyes
- Bunny lines on the nose
- Chin dimpling or jawline contouring
What to Do Before Botox Treatment?
Avoid drinking alcohol at least 24 hours prior to receiving Botox. Avoid taking NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen, Aleve) or anticoagulants unless medically necessary, as this can cause increased bruising. Stop use of Retinol the day prior to Botox, as this can cause increased skin irritation. We recommend rescheduling your appointment if there is an active skin infection or rash in any of the injection sites.
What to Expect During Treatment
Consultation
An ENT provider will review your medical history, discuss your concerns, and determine if Botox is right for you. Your provider will identify which muscles to target for optimal safety and results.
The Procedure
The treatment areas will be cleaned thoroughly prior to injection. Botox may feel like a brief pinch or pressure at the injection sites, often completed in 10–20 minutes, depending on volume and area(s) injected.
Aftercare & Recovery
Most patients return to normal activities right away. We recommend avoiding strenuous activity or applying foundation for at least 24 hours to ensure the best results. Mild redness or discomfort at the injection site typically resolves within a few hours.
Results
You’ll start to notice less muscle movement within 3–7 days, though full results are seen in about 10-14 days. Effects generally last 3–4 months.
