What is a Nasal Obstruction?
A nasal obstruction is when airflow in the nose is blocked by a blockage in the nasal cavity. Also known as a nose blockage, it can also be called a nasal obstruction. It can affect either one or both of the nostrils. Many of these are temporary and can be caused by allergies, sinus infections, medications, or colds.
What Causes Nasal Obstruction?
Nasal congestion occurs when there is irritation to your nose’s tissues. Irritation can lead to inflammation, swelling, and increased mucus production, making it difficult for you to breathe through your nose. Sinusitis, nasal polyps, and middle ear infections can all result from untreated nasal congestion.
